Over more than two decades at two of the world’s largest asset managers, Doug has been at the forefront of the financial services industry’s transformation from product-centered campaign-based marketing to “always-on” content-driven digital strategies.
Beginning as a freelance proofreader he went on to spend nearly a decade as a writer, gaining experience communicating with investors and financial intermediaries.
As a creative director and senior manager, he led teams that launched Capital Group’s first enterprise-wide Outlook program, shaped its active management defense work, and helped launch the firm’s industry leading content marketing platforms, Capital Ideas and PracticeLab.
He helped lead the team that piloted and implemented an Agile marketing model and went on to lead a cross-functional “pod” charged with engaging the firm’s largest broker-dealer partners.
Along the way he forged relationships with senior sales leaders, CMOs, CIOs and members of the C-Suite, working side-by-side with them to shape their messages and vision through speeches, presentations and video.
